ORDINANCE NO. 2894-06 <br />AN ORDINANCE Amending The Zoning Map Of The City Of <br />Everett For The Cascade Highlands / Hilton Place Annexation Area South Of <br />100th Street SE And East of 26th Dr SE, To Be Zoned R-1 Single Family <br />Residential, Which Is Consistent With The Comprehensive Plan <br />WHEREAS, the City of Everett has been provided authority to offer annexation of <br />unincorporated territories to voters under RCW 35A.14.015 assuming certain provisions are <br />met, and <br />WHEREAS, the City has followed the requisite steps to annex the Cascade Highlands / <br />Hilton Place area (Exhibit "A") including passage of Ordinance 2862-05 on September 7, <br />2005 calling for an election of the area, and <br />WHEREAS, on November 8, 2005 voters residing in the annexation area approved the <br />proposal with a 74.2% vote in favor of annexation, and <br />WHEREAS, City Council passed Ordinance 2881-05 annexing the area into the City of <br />Everett on November 30, 2005, with an effective date of Dec 15, 2005. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL FINDS: <br />Planning Commission held a public hearing on December 6, 2005, at which time the <br />Commission heard from the public and staff regarding the establishment of a zone <br />district for the annexation as provided herein. <br />2. At the December 6, 2005, public hearing Planning Commission passed Resolution <br />2005-05 which recommended to City Council that the R-1 Single Family Detached <br />Low Density zone be established for the area based on the Comprehensive Plan map <br />designation of 1.2 (Single Family Detached). <br />
