You
one
mde inhelpingus resolvour e theion of our de issues and w appreciate you efor s. the extra
Item #4 of your letter dated 10-29-90, calls for "18 inch minimum clearance to
combustible floor deck or alternative installation acceptable to City Building Ulllcial".
We would like to propose for your consideration that the curb space between the unit
and the roof deck be vented as detailed on the two sketches enclosed. We believe that
ventilating the curb space In this manner will prevent the build up of excessive heat.
and give protection of the roof deck equal to/or greater than the standard 18"
clearance without venting. Note also that. except for the return air opening% this unit
Is built exactly like the listed units from Applied Air. and these Mn set on t c factory's
standard 12" curb.
By venting the curb space. we hope to avoid having to lift the units up (they are
already anchored down) to put Ygypsunt board. mineral wool. or other protective
material in the curb space.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Sincerely,
_ R CONDITIONING COMPANY, INC.
Ronn M.
