The Department
measured a level of 59 dBA outside, so the required noise
reduction is 59 - 45 = 14 dBA minimum.
The proposed exterior construction was described to me as
follows:
Typical residential insulated glass windows,
Wall construction, 1/2 inch plywood over 7/16 inch chip board
sheathing on 211 X 6" wood studs with R-19 insulation and
1/2 inch gypsum board interior finish.
The above construction should have an outside -to -inside noise
reduction of at least 25 dBA, thus easily meeting the noise
reduction requirement defined above. of course, this applies
only when the windows are closed.
105 NE 561h SUM[ Sea01e.
