April 2, 1979 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett Board of Adjustment was held at <br />7:00 p.m. in the Hearing Room of the Snohomish County Courthouse, <br />Everett, WA. <br />Mr. Russell presided, Mr. Kristiansen, and Mr. Zook were present. <br />Mr. Black and Mr. Wilson were absent. <br />Mr. Russell made the announcement that item 1 under old business on <br />the agenda, The Colby Company, would be heard as Item 8 because of <br />equipment needed for their presentation and there would be a delay <br />before the equipment would be delivered. <br />A hearing was held on the application of Sherstad & Williams, PO Box <br />419, Kirkland, WA 98033 for a variance from Section 19.14.050 of the <br />Everett Municipal Code, Yard Requirements, Paragraph C, for permission <br />to construct a single family residence to within fifteen (15) feet <br />of the rear yard property line rather than the code requirement of <br />i twenty (20) feet. <br />Legal Description: Lot 9 Wellington Manor No. 2 (So, of Holly Drive) <br />Approximate Location: 88th St. SE & 3rd Place SE (E. of 3rd Ave.) <br />Zoning: R-1 Single Family Low Density Residence <br />Mr. Sherstad represented the company of Sherstad & Williams and made <br />the following statements: <br />1. There is an immediate need for housing for the handicapped. This <br />is the type of structure they intend to build if permission is granted. <br />2. The size and shape of the lot is an extraordinary condition. <br />3. Because it is level Lot 9 is the only lot in the subdivision that <br />can be used for handicapped housing. <br />Mr. Sherstad then introduced Mr. Jim Daley, a retired representative from <br />the Veterans Housing Administration. Mr. Daley also expressed the veteran <br />needs for the .pproved type of residence that Sherstad & Williams would <br />build on Lot 9. ' <br />There was no opposition from the audience. <br />After visually viewing the subject property and hearing all the factp <br />it was moved by Mr. Kristiansen, seconded by Mr. Zook and unanimously <br />carried to grant the applicants request as it meets all the requirements <br />of Section 19.70.060 of the Everett Municipal Code Paragraphs 1,2,3, and 4 <br />A hearing was held on the application of Northshore Construction Inc., 630 <br />212th SW Lynnwood, WA 98036 for a variance from Section 19.22.050 of the <br />(1) <br />
