MEMORANDUM
TO: Gordon Witcher
FROM: Jane Zimmerman
DATE: July 29, 1991
SUBJECT: McCauley Construction Plan Review
The current proposal calls for detention to occur in the
vegetated swale provided on the site. Detention in the
swale is acceptable as long as the swale continues to
function per City design standards for the storm of interest
from a water quality perspective, which is the 2 year, 24-
hour storm. Therefore, the applicant must route a 2 year,
24-hour storm through the swale/pond area and show that the
maximum ponding depth is 0.5 -n-b ae or less. The swale may
need to be widened in orde to meet the swale depth design
criteria.
As an alternative, if detention becomes infeasible in the
swale due to the above criteria, payment into drainage fund
#340 may be acceptable. However, the applicant would need
to first provide information evaluating the downstream storm
conveyance system, showing that the system can handle the
additional flows generated by this project.
