See part (ERDSI). T'he <br />ERDSI comes with Its own set of fnstalistion instrvctions. <br />Typical round and square suppori Installetions are shown in drawings 1 thru 4 on <br />page 9. The clearance between the chimney and cambustible material must not <br />be less than 2" exce t for areas proteded b the su �rt. Do not filt this area <br />with insulation. If the suppo is installed in a cathe ra ceiling, follow the <br />instnictionsforCathedral Ceilings. <br />TYPICAL INSTALLATIONS <br />If the support is installed in a ceiling with an atticdirectly above, the support also <br />acts as the attic radiation sh�eld when installed with an universal storm coller <br />(ESC). <br />1. Locatethe chimney in a convenient place as nearas possibletothe appiiance <br />outlet. Cut and frame the holes in the floor, ceiling and roof where the chimney <br />will pass. Refer to the technicai speciflcatfons on page 3 to determine the <br />required rough opening forthe support model and size you are instelling. <br />NOTE - Look Up - The round and square supports are designed to protect th2 <br />surroundingcombustiblematerialsandasaresultth: �ermitl"clearanceirom <br />the chimney to combustible framing - in the area that they protect. When these <br />supports ere installed in a roof truss insure that the chimney has 2" clearance <br />atthetopofthetruss. Thismayrequireyoutoblockoutthesupportatthebottom. <br />Another option is to instell a support extension (see pege 12). Trim the support <br />extension flush withthe roof, thiswill penn(t the cfilmneyto pass wfthin 1"of the <br />truss. <br />2. From below, push the support intothe framed hole. The support must protrude <br />at least 3" below the finished ceiling. Neil the suppo�t to the framed joist using <br />8- 3" spiral nails or # 8 X 1'h" wood screws, Place tho Finish Collar around the <br />support and fasten it to the ceiling using the two screws provided.
