Development of approximately 7 miles of the Shoreline <br />F� Public Access Trail. Development of the trail with links <br />to the City's bike path system would greatly expand <br />opportunities to enjoy the waters edge. Projects could <br />include a bridge at Jackson and Grand Avenue Park <br />2. Renovation of Legion Memorial park which could <br />include a trail system to add more recreation <br />opportunities. <br />3. Development in the downtown area may provide <br />opportunities to develop small open spaces, a <br />significant public space and improve the viability of <br />utilizing alleys as open space for public use and <br />enjoyment. <br />4. Look for opportunities to work with neighborhoods to <br />improve neighborhood walking trails on undeveloped <br />right of way. <br />5. Enhancements to Jackson Park to create artificial field <br />sports complex and improved walking paths <br />6. Bridge connection from Jackson to Langus Park would <br />improve access to recreation. <br />7. Expansion of Violas View Point by adding soil can <br />increase usable recreational space on site. <br />8. Possible open space at west end of California or Hewitt <br />dedicated to history. <br />9. Improvements to Library parking lot to create Mini Park <br />for new downtown housing areas. <br />10. Trail and recreation improvement at Forgotten Creek <br />Partnerships: <br />1. Seek opportunities to promote joint use of facilities with <br />the college, schools and other organizations <br />2. Develop agreements with Boys and Girls Club and <br />YMCA to provide indoor recreation <br />3. Consider opportunities to partner with waterfront <br />industries providing trails and open space <br />4. Work with neighborhood groups to promote safe <br />walking trails and the development of trail maps <br />5. Work with Port and Railroad to develop open space at <br />old train station site and Port parking lot <br />6.
