Everett Parks and Recreation Parks <br />Sub Area 2 Central <br />Population <br />27,584 based on 2000 Census Data <br />4,191 expected population growth by 2025 <br />31,775 population total by 2025 <br />Land Use: <br />Source: 2001 Snohomish County Assessor's digital parcel data, <br />zoning and subarea GIS layers, and aerial images. <br />5,547 acres of land <br />535 acres critical areas <br />2,720 acres single family residential <br />227 acres multi -family residential <br />300 acres commercial <br />188 acres of industrial <br />790 acres agriculture <br />589.3 acres of parks, open space <br />Community <br />Sub Area 2 includes large tracts of publicly owned green <br />spaces along Mukilteo Boulevard including 197 acre Forest <br />Park and some of Everett's most scenic parks including <br />Howarth and Harborview. This area also includes Evergreen <br />Cemetery one of the oldest open spaces in the city covering <br />61 acres and Everett Golf and Country Club that covers 92 <br />acres. <br />Neighborhoods <br />Neighborhoods in this area include the southern half of Port <br />Gardner, South Forest Park, Glacier View, View Ridge <br />Madison, Lowell and the east edge of Harborview-Seahurst- <br />Glenhaven. <br />Geography <br />The geography of the Central Sub Area 2 is primarily built on a <br />high plateau that affords view of the Puget Sound to the west <br />and the Cascade Mountain Range to the east. Lower <br />elevations can be impacted by lowland flooding and tidal <br />influence along the Snohomish River at Lowell. Sub Area 2 <br />includes 535 acres of critical areas mostly represented by <br />major drainage ways that include Pigeon Creek No 1 that <br />passes through Forest Park and Pigeon Creek No 2 that <br />drains through Harborview Park. Pigeon Creek No 2 follows a <br />ravine all the way to Hannabrook Park to the south. Glenwood <br />Creek passes through a heavily wooded ravine next to <br />Harborview Park. This ravine extends almost to Boeing to the <br />south.
