Allan Giffen PLANNINO ANDDirector November 30, 2009 Dear Reader and Interested Citizen, The City is in the process of completing its 2008 annual update to the City's Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted under Growth Management Act requirements (GMA) in 1994. This Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (FSEIS), the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS), and associated SEPA determinations now competed, address the environmental impacts of the amendments proposed as part of the docket process initiated in 2008. The DSEIS was issued in September 24, 2009. This FSEIS includes the comments we received on the DSEIS and responses to those comments received on the DSEIS, in emails and letters received, and during the Planning Commission public hearing on the DSEIS on October 6, 2009. We appreciate the time and effort of all of those who commented on the DSEIS. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the CEMEX Comprehensive Plan amendment request to change the designation to 4.4 (Mixed Use Commercial, Multi -Family) for the affected area west of Glenwood Avenue. East of Glenwood the 4.2 (Community Business) designation at the maintenance shop would be amended to 1.3 (Single Family, 10-12 units per acre). Planning Commission's decisions are recommendations to City Council. The City Council will also hold public hearings before adopting the amendments to the Comprehensive Plan in January, 2010.
