CEMEX <br />General Opening Comments <br />To all the Neighbors, Companies, Agencies and interested Citizens who have taken the time to <br />comment, during this DSEIS process and at previous Planning Commission Hearings and <br />Neighborhood meetings. We thank you. <br />We have listened to your thoughts and suggestions over these past 3 years, and have incorporated <br />many of your ideas into our plan. With your input we have genuinely tried to improve our <br />project. <br />We think this is a good plan. Good for Industry and jobs, good for Neighborhoods and People, <br />and good for the future of the City of Everett. <br />CEMEX thanks you all. <br />After carefully consideration of all the comments that have been received on the (DSEIS) for the <br />Glenwood project. CEMEX has decided to revise its plan as follows: <br />1. Increase the industrial area in the plan by 175% to 714,000 sq ft. <br />(up from 400,000 sq ft). <br />Reduce the number of dwellings by one third to 700. <br />(down from 1,045) <br />2. Update the Traffic Analysis to reflect these changes. <br />3. Relocate the Regional Drainage Pond to an area where stormwater <br />infiltration can be incorporated, and where the risk of contamination <br />can be eliminated. <br />Revisions to the CEMEX proposal follow on the next page. <br />14 <br />
