CEMEX
Response to Comments
Richard Wilson, Food Services of America
CEMEX values and appreciates the long standing relationship that we have with Food Services
of America on the Everett Property and we thank you for your comments.
Your questions regarding Traffic conditions related to the Comprehensive Plan update have been
addressed by our Traffic Engineers and within the City of Everett's Traffic Engineer's response.
(See attached)
Robert F. Zane, Campbell's (StockPot)
We thank you for your comments.
First we would like to point out that the distance of the Stockpot facility to its nearest residence
at the time of Stockpot's construction was 610 feet. That is the distance to a home located to the
NW, across Merrill Creek Parkway.
If the Glenwood Plan were approved and constructed, the nearest possible residence on the
Glenwood Site, would be over three times (3x) the distance from StockPot than the current
nearest residence. The distance from Stockpot to the nearest CEMEX planned residence is 2,250
feet. More importantly, Glenwood will be away from the direction of the prevailing winds as
they relate to the StockPot facility.
We further appreciate the fact that StockPot states they are a "state of the art facility" and
recognize they operate in compliance with local air and noise standards. Additionally, CEMEX
has stated that it would consider providing an acknowledgement easement governing air and
noise emissions to Stockpot. StockPot in return had promised to provide "sample language they
had used in other locations" for CEMEX to review. However multiple requests by CEMEX, over
the past 12 months to Mr. Jim Greenfield, attorney for StockPot, have yet to provide any such
"sample language" from StockPot for review by CEMEX. The latest request was made on
October 6, 2009 at the Planning Commission Meeting in Everett.
M
