And, even though college is many years away, he is already thinking about <br /> working hard to take college courses during high school to get ahead. <br /> He describes himself as thoughtful, intelligent and enthusiastic. <br /> Seong Hong <br /> Seong Hong is a 10-year-old fifth grader at Woodside Elementary and is <br /> known as a bright and active boy. He is a student at Woodside Elementary <br /> School; his teacher is very proud of him because Seong works hard to <br /> excel academically as well as socially. <br /> Every week Seong completes all of his assignments going above and <br /> beyond his teacher expectations. And, he always questions when he <br /> doesn't understand. He has received the Top Reader award five times <br /> since November. <br /> Seong is a good friend and a great student, despite language barriers. <br /> English is his second language, but he reads books every day to improve <br /> his English. <br /> Seong is never boastful. He is humble, kind and grateful. He helps his <br /> classmates with assignments when he finishes early. If he sees another <br /> student struggling, he runs to their aid. He sets a good example for other <br /> students to follow. He describes himself as creative, enthusiastic and <br /> funny. <br /> Seong's inspiration comes from his parents, who encourage him to read <br /> and be confident. He is also inspired by famous people like Thomas <br /> Edison. Even though he's not sure what he wants to do when he grows <br /> up, he said he will likely be in a profession that helps in the community. <br /> He also enjoys drawing and working on computers. <br />
