Divya is a talented Middle Eastern dancer who teaches dance to the deaf community as well as the hearing community. She is a natural teacher who is patient and encouraging. She dedicates herself to her school work and earns A's and B's. She often asks her teachers for extra work to improve her skills in writing and reading. She sees her greatest achievement as performing in front of thousands of people during a trip to Las Vegas. Her mom provides her with inspiration in how she supports the deaf community and takes care of three children, all the while teaching Indian dance. Divya and her mom are getting ready for another trip to Las Vegas to perform for people from around the world. Here's what she says about her mom, "She is spectacular, hard-working, fashionable, and breath- taking beautiful." Divya hopes to someday become a doctor or veterinarian. She describes herself as determined, hilarious and sophisticated yet mature. Winter Rose Baumgartner Winter Rose Baumgartner is a 12-year-old, sixth grader at Northshore Christian Academy. She is passionate about volunteering to help the homeless, children and animals. She is an active volunteer of three years with Proverbs 31:20 Ministries, where she assembles kits for homeless families and other families in need, helps at their annual Spa Night, an outreach to King and Snohomish county shelters and volunteers in hospitality and childcare at the Spirit of Christmas celebration for 425 women and children in need. Last summer, she participated in a youth mission trip to Eastern Washington, where she performed dramatic interpretations of the Gospel through the use of puppets and dance. As part of the trip, she helped weed, paint a fence, clean up the grounds of a church and served meals at a men's shelter.
