Divya is a talented Middle Eastern dancer who teaches dance to the deaf <br /> community as well as the hearing community. She is a natural teacher <br /> who is patient and encouraging. <br /> She dedicates herself to her school work and earns A's and B's. She often <br /> asks her teachers for extra work to improve her skills in writing and <br /> reading. <br /> She sees her greatest achievement as performing in front of thousands of <br /> people during a trip to Las Vegas. <br /> Her mom provides her with inspiration in how she supports the deaf <br /> community and takes care of three children, all the while teaching Indian <br /> dance. Divya and her mom are getting ready for another trip to Las Vegas <br /> to perform for people from around the world. Here's what she says about <br /> her mom, "She is spectacular, hard-working, fashionable, and breath- <br /> taking beautiful." <br /> Divya hopes to someday become a doctor or veterinarian. <br /> She describes herself as determined, hilarious and sophisticated yet <br /> mature. <br /> Winter Rose Baumgartner <br /> Winter Rose Baumgartner is a 12-year-old, sixth grader at Northshore <br /> Christian Academy. She is passionate about volunteering to help the <br /> homeless, children and animals. She is an active volunteer of three years <br /> with Proverbs 31:20 Ministries, where she assembles kits for homeless <br /> families and other families in need, helps at their annual Spa Night, an <br /> outreach to King and Snohomish county shelters and volunteers in <br /> hospitality and childcare at the Spirit of Christmas celebration for 425 <br /> women and children in need. <br /> Last summer, she participated in a youth mission trip to Eastern <br /> Washington, where she performed dramatic interpretations of the Gospel <br /> through the use of puppets and dance. As part of the trip, she helped <br /> weed, paint a fence, clean up the grounds of a church and served meals at <br /> a men's shelter.
