She plays the piano and violin and has won <br /> awards for riding horses. <br /> She said her inspiration comes from Jesus Christ, who provides her with <br /> courage and strength, and from her parents, who provide her with <br /> encouragement and support to be the best she can be. <br /> Someday she hopes to become an equine veterinarian, a profession she <br /> has dreamed of since she was 6. She describes herself as compassionate, <br /> confident and loyal. <br /> Elijah Turner <br /> Elijah Turner is a 15-year-old 9t" grader from Mariner High School. She <br /> has earned a 4.0 grade point average, and according to her, she has plans <br /> to keep it that way. Elijah moved here from Florida in June 2008. At the <br /> time, she was starting a new school, making new friends and living with <br /> her grandmother. Meanwhile, she watched her parents struggled to find a <br /> home and overcome other obstacles. <br /> Elijah is always early to rise and is excited to start the day. She says she <br /> gets her inspiration from her dad who is always there for her when she <br /> needs advice and her best friend Monique. <br /> She loves volleyball and hopes to use her athletic skills in her future <br /> profession.
