Political action committees <br /> In the case of businesses and charitable organizations, City Council members shall publicly disclose <br /> contributions of$250 or more from any of the following: the business or organization, its principals, its <br /> executive managers, its officers and any shareholders with a 10% or greater ownership in the business <br /> or organization. <br /> This disclosure of personal or campaign gifts does not necessarily limit the City Council member's <br /> right to act on the matter before the body, unless a limitation is imposed by federal, state or local laws. <br /> G. Confidential Information <br /> City Council members shall respect the confidentiality of information concerning City property, <br /> personnel or proceedings of the City, including information received in Executive Session meetings of <br /> the City Council. They shall neither disclose confidential information without proper legal <br /> authorization, nor use such information to advance their personal interests. <br /> °. Use of Public Resources <br /> City Council members shall not use public resources for private gain or personal purposes. City <br /> Council members shall not utilize the City's name or logo for the purpose of endorsing any political <br /> candidate or business. <br /> 10. Political Contributions <br /> A member or candidate for City Council shall not solicit contributions or endorsements from City <br /> employees. This provision is not intended to interfere with an employee's right to endorse or <br /> contribute on his/her own or to prohibit soliciting contributions or endorsements from employee <br /> bargaining units. <br /> 11. Representation of Private Interests <br /> In keeping with their role as stewards of the public interest, members of Council shall not appear on <br /> behalf of the private interests of third parties before any board, commission, committee, or proceeding <br /> of the City. <br /> 12. Advocacy <br /> City council members shall represent the official policies or positions of the City Council, <br /> commission, or committee to the best of their ability when designated as delegates for this purpose. <br /> When presenting their individual opinions and positions,officials shall explicitly state they do not <br /> represent their body or the City of Everett. <br /> 13. Policy Role of Members <br /> City Council members shall respect and adhere to the Mayor-Council structure of the City of Everett as <br /> outlined in the City Charter, its policies and procedures. In this structure,the City Council determines <br /> the policies of the City with the advice, information and analysis provided by the public, commissions <br /> and committees, and City staff.
