Lineberry <br />(425)257-8557 <br />June 16, 2010 <br />Depart nent(s) Approval <br />DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: <br />The Everett Police Department is requesting that City Council authorize the Mayor to apply for federal <br />funding, via the FYI Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, for acquisition and implementation <br />of law enforcement equipment and technology. The grant amount would be $90,426, with no matching fund <br />requirement. The grant funds will provide for firearms training simulator equipment, simunition equipment, <br />LED flashlights, data storage, server hardware, support and software. The grant program period is October 1, <br />2010 through September 30, 2014. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign the Application for Federal Assistance for the 2010 <br />Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. <br />101 <br />
