EXHIBIT A <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />The Service Provider is to provide on-call geotechnical services to evaluate slope stability concerns, <br />storm damage, construction and building site development review, and subsurface geotechnical <br />investigation. When the City needs on-call geotechnical services, the parties shall agree on a specific <br />scope and cost for such services and shall memorialize their agreement using the Work Order Form <br />attached as Exhibit AI. The Service Provider shall not proceed with any further work until the Work <br />Order, Exhibit AI, has been signed by the Service Provider and authorized by the signature of the City <br />representative <br />Specifically, the scope of services may include a combination of the following tasks: <br />A. Review of documents, reports, maps and photographs pertinent to the area of concern. <br />B. Detailed reconnaissance of the area, including shallow hand excavations or probing, preparation <br />of field -developed cross sections, evaluation of surface and near -surface water flow, and <br />identification of hazards to nearby property and facilities. <br />C. Preparation of a work plan with'cost estimate for any additional on-site exploration, laboratory <br />testing and analysis that may be required to properly evaluate the site and develop <br />recommendations for mitigation as appropriate. <br />D. Meeting with City of Everett engineering staff.to discuss our findings and conclusions and to <br />develop plans for further action as appropriate. <br />E. Prepare summary reports for areas, as appropriate. The structure of each report may vary from a <br />field report to a formal report with detailed drawings, depending on the nature of the site and the <br />requirements of the City. <br />F. Other work as requested by the City to be outlined in the Work Order Form. <br />When both parties sign a Work Order, it becomes a part of this Agreement and is subject to the tenus and <br />conditions of this Agreement. <br />Rev 20050721 <br />Geoengineers Professional Services Agreement <br />Page 11 131 <br />14 <br />
