Snohomish County has used its share of the State grant funds to create a multi jurisdictional
approach for verifying the addresses of registered sex and kidnapping offenders. This multi jurisdictional
approach includes an Everett Police detective, a Snohomish County Sheriff's detective, and a dedicated
prosecutor from the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. This Interlocal Agreement allows for
the City of Everett to assign a full-time police detective to work with this group. The City will be
reimbursed for the detective position with the State grant monies.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Mayor to sign the 2010-2011 Interlocal Agreement with Snohomish County for sex offender
address and residency verification program services.31
