'',,W, <br /> EVERETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3'614/3 <br /> A RESOLUTION regarding City of Everett employee reservists who <br /> are called to active duty during the Desert Storm conflict. <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of Everett desire to support and <br /> recognize the service that the employee reservists who are called to active <br /> duty are providing to the Country during the Desert Storm conflict; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council believe that the original intent of <br /> state law RCW 38.40.060 which grants reservists fifteen (15) days of paid <br /> military leave for attending active training duty was to recognize and <br /> offset any hardship to said reservists from loss of pay during their yearly <br /> active duty training; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council believe that the current conflict in the <br /> Persian Gulf also creates said hardship for those individuals who are called <br /> up for active duty; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT HEREBY <br /> RESOLVE to assist those reservists called to participate in the Desert Storm <br /> conflict by allowing said reservists the ability to take advantage of their <br /> yearly allotted fifteen (15) days of paid active military training leave. <br /> . 401.P., .* 1.- <br /> P ,-Th <br /> ' ' & 1 / <br /> Councilperson Intro ucing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this1p — day of i cilJ , 1991 . <br /> P� . �i ' v✓1WO <br /> D ORRO ounce -si .en <br /> (0199) <br />
