EVERETT RESOLUTION NO. 3429 A RESOLUTION commencing annexation of Paine Field Airport. WHEREAS, the Everett City Council finds that it is in the long-term economic, social , environmental and general welfare best interest of the City of Everett and Snohomish County and the residents and businesses thereof that Paine Field Airport and the adjacent county-owned property be annexed to the City of Everett; and WHEREAS, the City finds that due to other pending annexation and incorporation proceedings under consideration in the area, it is necessary to take expeditious action to protect the interests and welfare of businesses and residents in Everett, Snohomish County and the area surrounding Paine Field; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT: 1 . Pursuant to RCW 35.13.015 it is determined that the best interests and general welfare of the City of Everett would be served by the annexation of the unincorporated territory contiguous to the City of Everett as described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 2. Tne boundaries of said area to be annexed are described in the aforesaid Exhibit A. 3. There are, as nearly as may be described, twenty-eight (28) voters residing in the aforesaid area. 4. The City of Everett prays for the calling of an election to be held among the qualified voters residing in the aforesaid area upon the question of annexation of the area described in Exhibit A to the City of Everett. The Everett City Attorney in consultation with the Snohomish County Auditor or Elections Superintendent is authorized to determine the language of the ballot proposition to be presented to said voters. 5. The City of Everett will pay for the cost of the annexation election. 6. Snohomish County Boundary Review Board shall constitute the Review Board contemplated under RCW 35.13.171 and shall , in addition to those requirements under Chapter 36.93 RCW, make the findings required under 35.13.173.
