Preliminary Design 1. Collect and review data provided by the City, including GIS and mapping data, record plans, and electronic templates. 2. Check for potential utility conflicts based on utility field locates, utility as-built drawings, and survey information. 3. Perform hydraulic modeling analysis to determine/verify proposed pipe sizes. Assumes one meeting with City to discuss model parameters,fire flow requirements, etc. and up to three visits to City to perform modeling using City's model and computer station. One additional meeting is included to discuss the findings of the modeling effort. 4. Prepare pre-design report including identification of required easements, if any, summary of modeling results and recommended pipe sizes and alignments, summary of cost projections (see following subtask), preliminary construction schedule, and exhibits for WSDOT franchise application north of Cascade View and east of 3rd Street SE. 5. Prepare 30% Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) for inclusion in pre- design report. 6. Prepare 30% Design Drawings. These drawings will include the complete base map, proposed horizontal alignments, and plan and profile sheets only (estimated at 25 sheets). 7. Internal QA/QC 8. Prepare preliminary design submittal for City. 9. Attend 30%design review meeting with City. Deliverables: • Six hard-copies of preliminary Drawings (11" x 17" size) • Electronic base map and CAD files, in AutoCAD 2010 format and conforming to City CAD standards • Design report (entire report in pdf format, in addition to all files in their original source programs—Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, etc.). 179
