The area lodging businesses impacted by the proposed charges have <br /> approved. The agreement will allow the City of Everett's portion of the newly assessed room tax to go into a <br /> County fund which will be dispersed by a County appointed board made up of members of the hospitality <br /> industry. This fund will augment hotel/motel funds and aid in our ability to attract events and tournaments <br /> which promote local overnight stays, without impacting City or County budgets. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interlocal Agreement Authorizing Establishment of the Snohomish County <br /> Tourism Promotion Area. <br /> 3 <br />
