The Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant program has awarded the department a grant for renovation of exhaust extraction systems and installation of fire suppression sprinkler systems at four existing fire stations. The projected total cost of the project is $213,515. is an 80/20 matching Grant. The City of Everett's matching amount is $42,703. $170,812 is being covered by the DHSAFF Grant. This grant is for the replacement of all our breathing apparatus. We are requesting a reauthorization of the remaining $43,781 unspent funds to be placed into the 2006 budget to finish the purchase of SCBA Bottles and related equipment. The total grant amount was $444,906. The Grant provides $280,000 leaving the City the balance of $164,906. All grant funds have been received and spent. The remaining expenditures come from the city match.
