personalized ridematching in the Los Angeles area suggests that it should be a part of each <br /> affected employers program in Snohomish County. <br /> Transit Agencies - Community Transit and Everett Transit offer "regional" ridematching <br /> services. Everett Transit has its own database for employees of the city of Everett. <br /> Community Transit is linked with Metro and Pierce Transit in a region-wide database with <br /> some 18,000 persons from as far as Blaine in the north to Tumwater in the south, and from <br /> the Kitsap Peninsula to Concrete. Persons are matched on the basis of similar origins and <br /> destinations and similar workdays. Persons joining the database are sent a list of the persons <br /> that match and any vanpools that match. <br /> Affected employers in the county should participate in regional ridematching as well as <br /> personalized in-house ridematching to maximize the potential for ridesharing. <br /> Employer Outreach and Marketing - Community Transit has an ongoing outreach program <br /> that markets its services with major employers in the County. Representatives from CT go <br /> out personally to large employers and provide information and materials to promote <br /> alternative transportation services. This function is being expanded with the CTR <br /> implementation in the county in an effort to help employers write CTR programs and achieve <br /> CTR performance objectives. <br /> 25 <br />
