Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Wednesday,August 13, 2014 10:49 AM
To: Donald Cunningham
Cc: Kevin Fagerstrom
Subject: 1115 East Casino Road
A 1 17 -
Good morning Don,
We have a problem property that could use your expertise. Here is the story.
1. On 11/05/2013 it was discovered by Public works inspector Cliff Lindman that clearing grading and excavation work
was occurring at a vacant parcel of land located at 1115 East Casino road. Mr. Lindman posted a stop work on the
property for the clearing and excavation work that was occurring without required permits. Photos of the construction
activity were taken for the record. In addition to the stop work order Mr. Lindman contacted the Developer, a Mr. Curt
Johnson to inform him of the stop order and the violations. This work is a violation of Everett city ordinance 898-82
subsection 1-7 of the Design and Construction Standards and Specifications for Development.
2. On 7/22/2014 Inspector Lindman revisited the site to assess the current status and conditions on the property. Mr.
Lindman observed that additional construction activity had occurred since the initial visit and stop work order posting on
11/05/2013.Since that date a large concrete structure that appears to be a detention vault has been constructed. This
concrete structure has been constructed without required permits or approvals this is a violation of R105.1 Required
Permits. The continuation of work is a violation of the stop work order in effect on the property this is an Unlawful act
in violation of The International Building Code, sections "114.1 Unlawful Acts" and 115.3 "Unlawful Continuance".
Photos, reports and associated documents will be entered into our CRW system.
Please initiate enforcement action as your schedule allows.
Please contact me or office manager Paul McKee if you have any questions.
Thank you
Ted Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Division
