The 2011 Capital Grant Awards total$20,000. <br /> Through a competitive grant application and screening process, Cultural Arts Commissioners award grant support. <br /> PROGRAMMING GRANTS: For twenty-eight years,the City of Everett through the Cultural Arts Commission has <br /> supported performing,visual and literary organizations by awarding annual programming grants. Through a <br /> competitive grant application and screening process,Cultural Arts Commissioners make awards based upon criteria <br /> such as non-profit status,Everett-based priority and ability to provide matching funds. <br /> These awards enable artists and organizations to develop, produce and exhibit quality artwork and programs. They <br /> also increase exposure of the arts to the general public and strengthen partnerships with the artistic community. It is <br /> recommended that the ten arts organizations identified on the attachment receive grant funding and/or the use of the <br /> Everett Performing Arts Center,waiving the rental fee,to support their programming projects.The 2011 Programming <br /> Grant Awards total$20,000. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Accept the recommendation of the Cultural Arts Commission and Authorize the Mayor to sign the 2011 <br /> Cultural Arts Capital &Programming Grant Awards as designated, in an amount not to exceed $40,000. <br /> 5 <br />
