Visitor categories are individual <br /> leisure travel, group tours, and business travel. <br /> • Assist the City of Everett Cultural Arts department in development and marketing of festivals <br /> and other tourist-related attractions. <br /> • Establish cooperative relationships with city festivals, attractions, hotels, activities, state and <br /> regional tourism marketing organizations and community development organizations in order <br /> to achieve synergistic results. <br /> • Gain exposure in the travel and tourism marketplace through participation in trade shows, <br /> familiarization tour opportunities and the media. <br /> Objectives: <br /> To accomplish these goals, the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau will undertake the following <br /> activities in the 2011 contract year: <br /> 1. Participate in local and regional associations/organizations and membership <br /> programs that promote Everett and further industry contacts for the City of Everett. <br /> Maintain memberships in the following organizations: <br /> ✓ Snohomish County Lodging Association <br /> ✓ Public Relations Society of America <br /> ✓ Oregon Travel Information Council Tourism Vancouver <br /> ✓ Downtown Everett Action Committee <br /> 2. Participate in familiarization tours. Coordinate and participate in FAM trips for group <br /> tour operators, meeting planners and sports rights holders. Familiarization tours are <br /> coordinated site visits specific to the needs of the client. That could include hotels and <br /> meeting venues, attractions and activities. Coordinate one FAM trip. <br /> 3. Provide conference, convention, reunion and group tour planning assistance. <br /> Provide conference, convention, reunion, and group tour-planning assistance to include <br /> sightseeing opportunities, area attractions, tours for spouses, transportation (land and <br /> water), tour guides, registration and on-site information tables and welcome packets. <br /> Provide assistance to 10 groups. <br /> 4. Expand group tour and leisure travel presence on Internet. Evaluate and expand the <br /> travel and tour information on the city tourism site, allowing links to home pages where <br /> available. Place visitors guide, festival and event guide, panorama,waterfront guide, <br /> group tour guide summary, and other publications on website. <br /> 5. Meet with hotel and facility sales directors at the monthly Snohomish County <br /> Lodging Association meeting to communicate sales efforts, new marketing strategies <br /> and advertising opportunities planned and executed by the Tourism Bureau on behalf of <br /> the City of Everett.
