The Board of <br /> Commissioners of the Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District of Snohomish County passed Resolution <br /> 172-11 approving the transfer of customers and water facilities in the Airport Road Annexation Area to the <br /> City. With this ordinance,the City accepts the transfer of certain water customers and facilities in the Airport <br /> Road Annexation Area, assumes a portion of District water facilities within the annexed area(s), and agrees <br /> to pay the assumed water area's share of the existing outstanding indebtedness of the District. The transfer <br /> will be effective at 12:01 a.m. on Jan 1, 2011. The map of the service area assumed and a list of all assets, <br /> facilities, responsibilities,property, and equipment over which the City assumes jurisdiction and ownership is <br /> displayed in Exhibits A, B, and C of the proposed ordinance. This assumption is undertaken pursuant to <br /> Chapter 35.13A RCW. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt Ordinance assuming jurisdiction over a portion of the Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District's <br /> responsibilities, property, facilities and equipment in areas previously annexed to the City under Ordinance <br /> 2422-99 and Ordinance 2375-99. 1 <br />
