ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION <br /> RE: Uniform Plumbing Code Rain Leader Material <br /> ACTION: Schedule 10 Galvanized Steel Pipe will be accepted as rain <br /> leader in the Hi-Bay Buildings at the Boeing Aircraft <br /> Company, Everett Plant. <br /> FINDINGS: <br /> * The strength of the steel pipe is adequate to support the <br /> pipe horizontally with less deflection than standard schedule <br /> pipe per recommended support spacing; <br /> * Schedule 10 steel piping is approved by NFPA for fire <br /> sprinkler systems with pressure up to 300 psi; <br /> * The grooves for the Victaulic couplings will be pressed into <br /> the pipe rather than cut, to prevent the wall thickness at <br /> that point in becoming too thin. <br /> * Schedule 10 is resistant to direct impact. <br /> ic.Cz- <br /> Building Official <br /> b1d98.71 <br />
