The Downtown Plan adopted in 2006 envisions that significant historic structures downtown will <br /> be preserved and rehabilitated.and includes conducting historic preservation activities as an activity to <br /> implement the Downtown Plan. The Historical Commission worked from 2008 through 2010 to draft the <br /> Downtown Historic Preservation Plan,contacting property owners within the affected area,holding multiple <br /> public meetings and hearings and conducting a public survey on historic preservation priorities. The <br /> Commission updated existing downtown historic property inventories and rated downtown properties on <br /> their historic significance. The Downtown Historic Preservation Plan includes an Action Plan of strategies to <br /> encourage preservation,enhancement. and marketing of historic properties and sites downtown. The plan is <br /> intended to guide historic preservation downtown. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt a resolution adopting the Downtown Historic Preservation Plan as a Special Area Plan Implementing <br /> the Downtown Plan <br /> 15 <br />
