WHEREAS, section 13.1(B) of ordinance 2613-02 gave an incentive to the cable system <br /> operator to complete the upgrade quickly by providing that the term of the franchise would be <br /> extended by two years if the cable system upgrade is completed within eighteen months of the <br /> effective date,that is,by January 11,2004;and <br /> WHEREAS, on April 7, 2003, Comcast represented the cable system upgrade was <br /> completed,a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Franchise Fxtensicrn. Pursuant to §13.1(B)of Ordinance 2613-02,the term of the cable <br /> television franchise granted in §2.3 of Ordinance 2613-02 be and hereby is extended from July 12, <br /> 2012 to July 12,2014. <br /> Section 2.
