The Core Residential Area standards were enacted in 2008 to establish <br /> standards to promote compatible infill redevelopment in the high density residential neighborhoods <br /> surrounding the downtown. <br /> The Hearing Examiner found that the standards pertaining to fences required clarification in order to enforce <br /> the requirements consistent with the intent to create a safe pedestrian environment and friendly streetscape. <br /> The Planning Commission held several public workshops over the course of the past year and at their March <br /> 15, 2011 public hearing adopted the recommendation in the attached Ordinance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt Ordinance Relating to Fence Standards in the Core Residential Area,Amending Ordinance No. <br /> 1671-89 as amended (EMC Title 19). <br /> 7 <br />
