Normal Rainfall means that rainfall that is at or above the mean of <br /> the accumulated rainfall record, based upon the water year, for the <br /> City as recorded at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, or other <br /> local rainfall recording station recognized by the City. <br /> Nursery means an establishment where trees, shrubs and other plant <br /> materials are grown, propagated and/or stored for the purpose of <br /> sale. <br /> Nursing or convalescent home means a facility or institution for the <br /> care of the aged or infirm, or a place of rest for those suffering <br /> bodily disorders. This term does not include hospitals or facilities <br /> for the primary treatment of sickness or injuries, or for surgical <br /> care, or congregate care facilities. <br /> O. "0" Terms <br /> Off-premise sign means an outdoor advertising, informational, <br /> directional or identification sign other than a billboard which <br /> relates to products, businesses, services or premises not located on <br /> or otherwise directly associated with the site on which the sign is <br /> erected. <br /> Off-street parking area means an area designed and/or used for <br /> parking vehicles which is not located in a street or alley <br /> right-of-way. <br /> Office means a building or portion thereof which is used for general <br /> business purposes not involving manufacturing, sale of inventory or <br /> provision of services involving manual skills or mechanical <br /> processes. Not included in the category of office are those <br /> businesses and occupations defined by this Ordinance as clinics, <br /> medical related activities, personal services, financial <br /> institutions, service businesses, governmental offices or uses such <br /> as private clubs, lodges, or fraternal organizations. <br /> Open space means land area not covered by buildings, roads, driveway <br /> and parking areas, or outdoor storage areas, including, but not <br /> limited to, landscape areas, gardens, woodlands, walkways, courtyards <br /> or lawns, and outdoor recreation areas. Except as otherwise provided <br /> by this Ordinance, open space shall include setback areas that meet <br /> the requirements defined herein. <br /> Open space, common means private open space provided within a <br /> development which is provided for, and which is permanently <br /> accessible to, all residents/tenants of the development. <br /> Open space, private means a small parcel of land or outside area <br /> (deck, lanai, patio) immediately adjacent to an individual dwelling <br /> unit maintained by and for its residents and reserved exclusively for <br /> their use. <br /> Open space, public means an area dedicated in fee to the City and <br /> operated and maintained by it. Public open space in a planned <br /> residential development is designed primarily for the use of <br /> residents of the particular development, but cannot be reserved for <br /> this exclusive use due to the public ownership. <br />
