These biofilters are part of the odor control system that mitigates odor impacts from hydrogen sulfide emissions at the Plant headworks. The Phase B-2A Improvements Project will construct modifications to the Headworks Biofilters to accommodate the new biofilter media. The estimated construction cost of the Phase B-2A improvements is$600,000. The Phase B-2A Improvements are a part of the Water Pollution Control Facility's Phase B Expansion projects. These projects were identified as part of a phased modification needed in order for the plant to maintain compliance with its Department of Ecology discharge permit. Previous expenditures for this account include$1,246,409 for engineering design and construction services, $2,521,729.94 for the bidding and construction of Phase B-2, and$259,838.12 for the purchase of the biofilter media to be installed in Phase B-2A. The total expenditure for this account to date is $4,027,977.06. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the call for bids for the Water Pollution Control Facility Phase B-2A Improvements Project. 137
