The original authorized$200,000 in Ordinance No. 2905-06 has been fully expended on site development,the initial pathway system including grading and curbing,the irrigation system, and site landscaping. This proposed ordinance completes the renovation of Bayside park including an accessible concrete sidewalk, galvanized steel railings, cobblestone gutters, concrete stairs, gravel paths, a picnic table,pedestrian path lighting, and the reconfiguration of a twenty foot section of the existing rockery wall. These improvements will fulfill the Bayside Park Master Plan objectives to provide an accessible walking trail and places to recreate. The proposed additional funding amount of$115,000 reflects the lowest responsive, responsible bid for this project, including a 13% construction contingency and sales tax. The request to award a construction contract will be brought forward for council authorization on May 25 with final action scheduled on June 1 in coordination with the second and third readings of the proposed funding ordinance. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled"Bayside Park Phase 2 Improvements Project," Fund 354, Program 031,to accumulate all costs for the improvement project and repealing Ordinance No. 2905-06. 151
