Amount Budgeted $8,000,000 Expenditure Required $6,174,996.00 Account Number(s): UP 3437 Budget Remaining $1,508,802.00 Additional Required $0 DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: On May 10, 2011, 9 project bid proposals were received for construction of the Replacement of Water Transmission Line No. 3 —Phase 7 project. The bids, which include sales tax, range from a low bid of $6,174,996.00 to a high bid of$6,944,833.16. The Engineer's estimate, including sales tax, was $8,496,495.85. An evaluation of the low bid proposal from IMCO General Construction, Inc. was found to meet all contract bidding requirements; therefore the City recommends that IMCO be awarded the construction contract for the Replacement of Water Transmission Line No. 3 —Phase 7 project for the amount of$6,174,996.00. Previously authorized expenditures for the project include $314,202.00 for design services through award of contract and $2,000 for advertising the call for construction bids. Total expenditures requested to date, including this request for construction award, are $6,491,198.00. The budget remaining is $1,508,802.00. RECOMMENDATION: Award construction contract and authorize the Mayor to sign the contract with IMCO General Construction, Inc. for the Replacement of Water Transmission Line No. 3 —Phase 7 project in the amount of $6,174,996.00, including Washington State sales tax. 167
