1 <br /> EXHIBIT A-1 <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 2. RFC's, Changes, Miscellaneous Consultations. Provide clarification of contract <br /> documents as presented in Requests for Clarification (RFC's), evaluate project design <br /> changes proposed by the Contractor, provide review of City responses to RFC's, and <br /> provide miscellaneous consultations as further described below: <br /> a. Interpretation and Clarification of Contract Documents. Provide requested <br /> clarification and interpretation of the contract plans and specifications. Provide <br /> written response to formal Requests for Clarification (RFC's) submitted by the <br /> Contractor and distributed to Engineer from the City. Provide the City with copies <br /> of RFC's and responses. A total of 120 Office Engineer hours of effort are <br /> budgeted. <br /> b. Review City Responses to'other RFC's. Receive, review, and maintain files of <br /> other RFC responses prepared and issued to the Contractor by the City. A total of <br /> 40 Office Engineer hours of effort are budgeted. <br /> c. Miscellaneous Consultations. Provide miscellaneous consultations to the City <br /> throughout construction. Respond to phone calls, participate in teleconferences, <br /> send and receive faxes, and correspond via e-mail with the City throughout the <br /> duration of construction. The budget for this task has been based upon <br /> approximately 4 hours per week dedicated to miscellaneous consultation with the <br /> City. <br /> 3. Shop Drawing Review. Receive two copies of selected shop drawings, material samples, <br /> and other submittals from the City for review by Engineer. Route the submittals to the <br /> appropriate personnel for review. Review these submittals for conformance to the intent <br /> of the contract documents. Compile written comments and return one copy of each <br /> reviewed submittal with responses to the City upon completion of the review process and <br /> by the deadline indicated by the City (minimum 20 days review period is required). <br /> Retain the remaining copy of the submittal for the Consultant's files. Evaluate selected <br /> substitution(s) and 'or equal(s)' proposed by the Construction Contractor during <br /> construction and provide recommendations to the City for final approval. Since the <br /> number of submittals re-submittals and substitutions to be reviewed is undefined, the <br /> scope is limited to a maximum of 200 hours for Office Engineer time to review up to 40 <br /> Construction Contractor submittals plus general coordination, technical assistance, and <br /> Quality Assurance/Quality Control. <br /> 4. Final Review and Inspection Assistance. Provide assistance in the final review and <br /> inspection of the construction work conducted by the City and provide review of a City- <br /> prepared final list of items to be corrected (i.e. "Punch List"). A total of 32 hours is <br /> budgeted. <br /> 5. Geotechnical Field Assistance.
