The Professional Services Agreement and scope of work with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is for a preliminary design phase only. Upon completion of the preliminary design, a contract amendment with scope and budget will be prepared for preparation of plans, specifications and construction support services. Preliminary design will occur during late 2011 and early 2012, detailed design during 2012 and construction during 2013. The primary objective of the Sewer System Improvements "M" project is to address a basement flooding problem in the vicinity of Colby, Hoyt and 15th St. This project will implement the recommendations presented in the "North Everett Combined Sewer Evaluation (Basin D) — Post June 9, 2010 Flood Event", March 2011, Otak, Inc.that recommends improvements consisting of a combination of sewer flow re-routing and separation of storm drainage from the collection sewers. In addition, this project will replace existing sewer mains, manholes, storm drain structures and side sewers, many of which are over 100 years old. Approximately 12,100 linear feet of old combined sewer main and approximately 500 side sewers would be replaced by this project. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council):. Authorize the Mayor to sign the Professional Services Agreement with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to provide preliminary engineering services for the Sewer System Improvements "M" in an amount not to exceed$298,700. 1
