The goal is to continue reducing traffic related deaths and serious injuries by engaging in <br /> multi jurisdictional,high visibility emphasis patrols in the areas of impaired driving and occupant protection. <br /> The allocation for the Everett Police Department's participation in emphasis patrols is$3,500.00 for <br /> Impaired Driving and$1,600.00 for Seat Belt Emphasis,totaling$5,100 for patrols between October 1, 2011 <br /> and September 30, 2012. The memorandum of understanding sets forth the requirements for the Everett <br /> Police Department to participate in the project and receive the allotted funding. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the 2011 Memorandum of Understanding with the Washington Traffic Safety <br /> Commission and accept the allotted funds of$5,100.00 for the participation in the high visibility <br /> enforcement traffic safety emphasis patrols_ <br /> 123 <br />
