2. <br /> City Council Staff Report <br /> Comprehensive Plan Map Designation Amendment and <br /> Rezone for South Everett Forest Preserve Park <br /> A. The Request: <br /> An amendment to the Comprehensive Plan map designation from 1.2 (Single Family) and 1.6 <br /> (Multiple Family)to 2.0 (Park/Public Open Space), and a rezone from R-1 (Single Family) and R-3 <br /> (Multiple Family)to P (Public Park Zone). <br /> This is a 15 acre City of Everett owned property is located west of I-5, south of Everett Mall. <br /> B. Background: <br /> 1. The property was purchased by the City of Everett in February, 2008. <br /> 2. This property is in the Everett Mall South Neighborhood. Staff provided information about the <br /> recommended Comprehensive Plan Map amendment and rezone at a neighborhood meeting. The <br /> Comprehensive Plan map amendment and rezone are supported by the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> 3. During the Planning Commission review process there were several speakers and emails which <br /> are provided to the City Council in the background information packet. <br /> C. Planning Commission Recommendation: <br /> 1. Amend of the Comprehensive Plan map from 1.2 (single Family) and 1.6 (Multiple Family) to 2.0 <br /> (Park/Public Open Space), and <br /> 2.
