2 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> An Ordinance Amending the Comprehensive Plan <br /> and Rezoning the Property Located south of I3ruslirud <br /> Road and west of 1-5 Amending Ordinance <br /> No.2021-94 and 167159, As Amended <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett adopted a Comprehensive Plan in August, 1994, in <br /> conformance with the Washington State Growth Management Act; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett adopted the 10 year update to the Comprehensive Plan, in <br /> conformance with the Washington Growth Management Act on March 30, 2007; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Growth Management Act, codified as Chapter 36.70A, allows for <br /> comprehensive plans to be amended on an annual basis; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett initiated its 2010-2011 annual Comprehensive Plan amendment <br /> process in July, 2010, which included consideration of Land Use Map amendments,rezone <br /> applications and text changes initiated by property owners and the City; and <br /> WHEREAS,Everett Planning Commission sponsored a docket application to amend the <br /> Comprehensive Plan map from 1.2 (Single Family) and 1.6 (Multiple Family)to 2.0 (Park/ <br /> Public Open Space), and to change zoning from R-1 (Single Family) and R-3 (Multiple Family) <br /> to P (Public Park Zone) for a property located south of Bruskrud Road,west of I-5; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett Planning Commission held a public hearing on the request on <br /> November 16, 2010, at which time the Commission heard and considered public testimony, staff <br /> presentations, and considered the various aspects of the proposal; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the public hearing the Director of the Everett Parks Department,Paul Kaftanski, <br /> stated the reason for the requested P (Park Park)zone is to allow for eventual passive public use <br /> of the Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the November 16, 2010 public hearing, after taking into consideration public and <br /> staff input, the Everett Planning Commission voted to recommend to City Council that the <br /> Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezone be approved; and <br /> - 1 - <br /> 5 <br />
