E�/E FETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7100 <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the submittal of a Washington State Department of Commerce <br /> Community Economic Revitalization Board grant application to aid in financing the cost of planning for <br /> an Innovation Center <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to establish an Innovation Center, which will support the development <br /> of future technologies in entrepreneurial start-ups, existing businesses and workforce development; <br /> WHEREAS, innovation is critical to support the existing businesses, as well as establishing new businesses, <br /> taking advantage of rapidly changing technologies required to remain competitive as an important economic <br /> area for the State; <br /> WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the Innovation Center will serve as a hub of activities and services stimulating <br /> innovation; <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett considers it in the best public interest to complete the project described in the <br /> application; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett that: <br /> 1. The Mayor or his/her designee is authorized to make formal application to the Washington State <br /> Department of Commerce Community Economic Revitalization Board for grant assistance. <br /> 2. Any grant assistance received will be used for direct costs associated with implementation of the project <br /> referenced above. <br /> 3.
