.::/4%0/emm: <br /> • <br /> EYE/7ETT <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1816-91 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1561-89 to <br /> encourage installation of sanitary sewers in the <br /> unsewered areas of the City. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that there <br /> are areas of the City which are not served by the Everett sewer <br /> system and which require sewer service for health, sanitation and <br /> clean water reasons and in order to permit future improvement of <br /> undeveloped properties; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that, while the costs of sewer <br /> system connection to unimproved properties should be primarily a <br /> property development cost, there are City-wide health, sanitation <br /> and clean water benefits in providing financial support to <br /> existing single family residence owners in order to connect <br /> residences on septic tanks to the Everett sewer system; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1561-89 provides limited funding <br /> assistance to single family residences within local improvement <br /> districts for sewers; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide incentives to single <br /> family residence property owners who privately finance the <br /> extension of sewer mains to serve their homes; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Bond area sewer connection charges and special <br /> sewer connection charges as established under Ordinance No. 627- <br /> 79 and Ordinance No. 1171-85 for sewer connections shall be <br /> waived to existing single family residences for the period of 12 <br /> months after a privately-financed sewer main is constructed and <br /> accepted by the City. Said waiver shall not apply to connections <br /> to multi-family or commercial/industrial structures. <br /> Section 2 : The Public Works Director is authorized to <br /> establish rules and regulations for the implementation of this <br /> ordinance, particularly for interpretation of applicable charges, <br />
