' ,44/--. • <br /> 44 <br /> EVERETT <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1803-91 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the exemption section of the <br /> Massage Parlor Licensing Ordinance, Chapter 24 , <br /> Section 2 of Ordinance No. 295-74 as amended by <br /> Ordinance No. s 1475-88 and 1769-91 (EMC 5. 96 . 020) . <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that in January, 1991, the City <br /> adopted Ordinance No. 1769-91 amending the exemption section of <br /> the City's Massage Parlor Licensing Ordinance to exempt certain <br /> licensed massage therapists from the licensing requirements of <br /> the Massage Parlor Licensing Ordinance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Chapter 182 of laws of 1991 <br /> only require State licensed massage practitioners seeking a City <br /> license to provide verification of his/her State massage license; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the amendments found herein <br /> are for the purpose of bringing the City's Massage Parlor <br /> Licensing Ordinance into conformance with the changes in State <br /> law; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: Chapter 24, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 295-74 as <br /> amended by Ordinance No. 's 1475-88 and 1769-91 (EMC 5. 96 . 020) <br /> which reads as follows: <br /> The provisions of this title do not apply to: <br /> A. Persons giving massage treatments in their private <br /> residence to members of their immediate family; <br /> licensed massage practitioners giving massage <br /> treatments as part of a non-profit research <br /> program; or licensed massage practitioners giving <br /> massage treatments in a bona fide non-profit <br /> charitable private social club or a bona fide <br /> athletic club not open to the public generally; <br />
