EVERETT <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1802-91 <br /> AN ORDINANCE repealing the City's merchant patrolman, <br /> agencies thereof, private detectives, and agencies <br /> thereof, licensing regulations, Ordinance No. 649- <br /> 79 (Chapter 5. 88 EMC) . <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the State legislature <br /> through the adoption of Chapters 328 and 334 of laws of 1991 <br /> preempted the City's authority to regulate private security <br /> guards, private security guard companies, private detectives and <br /> private detective companies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City must repeal its <br /> licensing regulations related to merchant patrolman, agencies <br /> thereof, private detectives and agencies thereof, to be in <br /> compliance with State law; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these individuals and <br /> businesses are still required to comply with the City's B & 0 tax <br /> licensing provisions; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 649-79 (Chapter 5. 88 EMC) is hereby <br /> repealed. <br /> .0...A97.4-9, - <br /> PETE KINC , M. or <br /> ATTEST: <br /> &hp / <br /> 0. f ajlial <br /> C T CLERK <br /> Passed: 7/31/9! <br /> Valid: e/1 /91 <br /> Published: <br /> Effective: g 11e `q <br /> Privatedetectives.taq <br />
