Deb Williams
rom: Debra Bryant
ent: Thursday, August 13, 2015 3:05 PM
To: DL -Council
Cc: Mayor Stephanson
Subject: FW: ATU Labor Agreement Highlights
Please see the information regarding the upcoming ATU contract.
Thanks,
Debra
X8608
From: Sharon DeHaan
Sent: Thursday, August 13, 2015 2:50 PM
To: Debra Bryant
Subject: ATU Labor Agreement Highlights
The ATU Union ratified the labor agreement last Friday. It will be on the August 19, 2015 Council Agenda.
There were a total of 11 meetings. The first negotiation meeting was 11-7-14 and the last one was 7-23-15. Once again,
it was a tough contract due to the medical contribution. (Note: this is the first time in 15 years that we did not have to
go to a State Mediator with the Transit union.)
Highlights are:
• 2 year contract
• Wages & Insurance: 2015 — 2.5% wage increase with a medical contribution of 5% starting on July 1, 2015
2016 - 3% wage increase with a 10% medical contribution starting January 1, 2016
(the wages and medical contributions match the AFSCME and Crafts labor agreements that were negotiated earlier this
year)
• Addition of 8 hours of vacation in the employee's 25t" year to match the AFSCME employees who have had the
25th year accrual for years
• Union Officials Time Off — cleanup of union officials time off to follow the state court case from 2013 so the city
taxpayers are not paying for union conferences and union business
• Merging of the shoe and clothing allowances (the total amount remains the same)
• Removal of the B -Board Operators. The 6 positions are now considered extra board operators with a 70 hour
guarantee in 14 days rather than 50 hours.
• Misc. housekeeping items
