The cost for developing a comprehensive program for six parks/open spaces, <br /> including the establishment of a sustainable community stewardship program, is$231,000. This includes the <br /> value of volunteer hours(see next paragraph). <br /> The proposed funding ordinance would provide Everett's share of this estimated cost(30%). Other funding <br /> partners include The Boeing Company(agreement with Forterra)in the amount of$100,000 (43%); <br /> volunteer stewards(value of donated time)in the amount of$38,000 (17%); and Forterra in the amount of <br /> $23,000(10%). <br /> At the Council's April 4,2012 meeting,it is also anticipated that City Council will be asked to authorize the <br /> Mayor to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Forterra to begin the habitat restoration project(with <br /> a briefing scheduled for March 28,2012). <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled"Habitat Restoration Project," Fund 354, <br /> Program 041,to accumulate all costs for the improvement project. <br /> 51 <br />
