1
Dave Ramstad: I was chairperson in 2010 and wonder if it is appropriate. I think it is too soon. I
think there are others who are qualified and could make a stronger contribution.
Barb Hardman: Those are things to consider. I know there may be others who are interested who
have not done it as recently.
Dave Ramstad: I would like to see that happen.
Barb Hardman nominated Sue Walsh for vice chair.
Sue Walsh I have also been chairperson in the past, but I am available if you wish.
Dave Ramstad: I would support that. I second the nomination of Sue Walsh. I would like to decline
the nomination.
The Commission voted unanimously to elect Sue Walsh as vice chair for 2012.
Neil Anderson: The next item on our agenda is the approval of the minutes from the November 22,
2011
Sue Walsh moved to approve the minutes of the November 22, 2011 meeting as amended Dave
Ramstad seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Neil Anderson: We also have notes from the January 24,2012,meeting. We did not have a quorum
at that meeting, so these notes are just for information.
Citizen Comments
There were no citizen comments.
Commissioner Comments
Dave Ramstad: Staff at Kimberly Clark is reaching out now as they close down their offices. Historic
Everett received a letter from an individual in their finance department talking about documents and
photos they found. He says that some of the material will go back to Kimberly Clark headquarters in
Wisconsin, but others they want to donate to the local community. I shared that with our historical
community by e-mail and suggested that the Library Northwest Room would probably be the archive for
photos or documents, or the Museum of Everett might also be a recipient. If there is smaller hardware
of any kind, the Museum of Everett would be a good recipient. I directed Kimberly Clark to Barbara
George and Gregg Reilly at the Museum of Everett and to David Dilgard at the Northwest Room. I also
told them Historic Everett would be pleased to coordinate whatever they have.
I asked them if there might be a tour of modest size before deconstruction begins since it is the last mill
in Everett and was one of the largest mills in the world at one time. It is a significant mill. No one here
looks forward to acres of more spare dirt. A tour might be possible. We will maintain a dialogue with
the Kimberly Clark staff.
Neil Anderson: I hope there is a tour.
Any additions to the agenda? (There were none mentioned.)
2
10
