•
CITY OF EVERETT
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
APPLICATION FORM
Name: Alisha Vilela
Address: 840 N Broadway 340,Everett WA 98201
Phone: 425-339-3999
Occupation: Children's Administration—Everett Office
How long have you been an Everett resident? 5 years
Board(s)/Commission(s) of interest: Diversity Board
Why do you want to serve on this board/commission? As a supervisor serving our at risk
families within the Everett area it has become apparent that racial disproportionality affects our population. By
being on the board I would like to be part of the culture change to help meet families needs while learning more
about their culture and how it affects their daily activities and living environment,in addition to making change
and providing support for families and youth of all different cultural backgrounds.
Please provide background, experience, and qualifications that would assist you in
serving on this board/commission: I have been employed with DSHS-Children's Administration since
2005. During this time I have served as a social worker and supervisor within Snohomish County. I have had
the opportunity to work with many families of different cultures and have been able to learn about traditions,
history, needs, and strengths within each separate family. As a supervisor in the Everett DSHS office,I serve as
the disproportionality lead and Family to Family lead for our community. This is an opportunity to be involved
within the community and also to assist in making a difference with the population our agency serves.
List past or present community involvement:
Additional information may be attached
