The purpose for the requested Comprehensive Plan land use map amendment is to ensure <br /> consistency between the Comprehensive Plan map and the zoning map,and to ensure the <br /> designation and zone for this property match its historic and anticipated use. <br /> 2. To achieve the desired consistency between the two noted maps,the City needs to amend the <br /> Comprehensive Plan map designation on the west portion of the property from 1.2(Single <br /> Family)to 1.6(Multiple Famil�)�E�tolt A,and the R-3 (Multiple Famgin ily)�Exhibit locatione same pneeds to be <br /> changed from M-2 (Heavy <br /> 3. City representatives meet with the Port Gardner neighborhood on February 13,2012 to <br /> discuss this proposal. <br /> 4. Planning Commission held a public meeting to learn of and discuss the proposed change on. <br /> November 11,2011 and held a public hearing on this proposal on March 6,2012. <br /> 5. On March 6,2012,Planning Commission passed Resolution 12-09,recommending adoption <br /> of this action by City Council. <br /> 6. The public health safety and welfare would be provided for by the proposal under existing <br /> development regulations of the City. <br /> 7. The proposed amendment to the land use map and rezone promotes the best long term interest <br /> of the Everett Community. <br /> 8.
